E Mu Xboard 49 Drivers Osx Maverick
I've been having issues for the last few months with certain plugins. Knobs, buttons, etc., on the plugins' interface don't respond visually to being moved or clicked, but they're responding audibly.
So if I turn a knob, it doesn't show it turning but the sound will change as I'm turning it. If I switch to Reaper's native UI, I can adjust everything okay. Then when I switch back to the plugin's GUI, the knobs have moved and updated with what I did in Reaper's UI. As a free example, you can try Tal's Elek7Pro here: It happens on several other plugins too, so free, some not. ImpOSCar is a pay on it happens on.
I'm on the latest 32-bit version of Reaper, running OSX 10.9.4. If I download an older version of Reaper, the GUI will work for a while, but then I'll go back to it and it's not responding again. It may just be something in my settings somewhere, so if no one can confirm, I'll gut Reaper completely and start over.
I just have some custom macros and stuff I don't feel like remaking. I tested both the AU and VST version of TAL Elek7ro-II. The gui of the VST version does not work BUT the AU version does work.
It's the same issue as Waves plugins have, AU ok, VST not ok. I've had this since Snow Leopard and I'm on Mavericks now so my guess it's something that Cockos needs to fix. The same plugins work flawlessly with other hosts on my OSX. I'm using the 64 bit of Reaper b.t.w. Can you check the AU version again please, just to be sure?
Mavericks doesn't seem to have changed anything that messes up VSTs. At least not that I noticed. I've been having this issue on ALL my OSX versions.

Dear People, This is my situation: - Mavericks 10.9.4 on macbook late 2011. - Reaper 4.71 (64bit) - Waves, latest version. - TAL Elek7ro, latest version. (only available as 32bit version). This is my experience: - Both Waves AU and VST do work just fine, no graphic problems.
-TAL Elek7ro VST (bridged to 64bit in Reaper) has the same graphic glitches you mention but.: What i did was install the 32bit AU version also and 'resurrect' it to 64bit by a program called 32Lives, which makes a 32 to 64bit bridged version of a 32bit AU and places that version in the Components folder. This program is not for free but imho is the best in bridging 32bit AU to 64bit AU. So, when using the 32>64 bridged AU version of TAL Elek7ro, it works without graphical problems!
Hope this helps. I've experienced this issue as well and have resolved it: It appears to be related specifically to Mavericks OS, as I hadn't noticed it previously with e.g.
Snow Leopard. For whatever reason, the fix requires opening another plugin's GUI to 'unlock' the frozen one(s) -- in my case I'm using the free (v2.6). Arturia Oberheim Sem V Mac Osx Downloads. Once SPAN is up any 'frozen GUI' problems disappear and controls work as expected. The 'unlocking' plugin (e.g. SPAN) need only be pulled up once per session (i.e. When first starting REAPER) and can be closed thereafter.
I hope REAPER development recognizes this OSX (Mavericks) quirk and resolves it in the near future. Specs: • E-MU Xboard 49 MIDI controller (via USB) • Focusrite Saffire Pro DSP • Mac OS v10.9.5 (Mavericks) • Mac Mini i7 2.6 ().
