Last year I applied for a class B General lic. I got flagged for investigation probly because im 25.only reason I applied for a Gen B is because I also do other trades not just painting. Figured if I had the general B licence I could do my other trades aswell if the customer desired. Long story short I ended up withdrawling my application instead of it getting revoked. Ive passed the law test. Still need the trade. And passed everything else.

(Background check). I want to apply now just for my c33 license. But im affraid ill get flagged.and revoked. What do you think?

All my experience is self employed. I have my tax returns stating im a painter for the past 4 years. Plus a general contractor friend who will sign my work experience form. And many referances. What do you think? All my experience is self employed. I have my tax returns stating im a painter for the past 4 years. Plus a general contractor friend who will sign my work experience form. And many referances All B applicants are being asked for documentation to prove experience, so I don't think your age was an automatic red flag.

Since you withdrew your app last year, your name shouldn't be flagged in the system as it would if you were denied. Plus, the C33 isn't a 'critical classification' and would not be automatically required to submit proof of experience. Having said that, you should be ok to pursue the C33, but. The cslb makes up the rules as they go along. So anything is possible.

It's a $300 gamble when you submit an app with them. If you got 4 years verifiable experience painting with proof and you pass the back ground check you shouldn't be denied. But they are not very fast over at the c.s.l.b due to budget cuts.

The whole process will take a few months or longer. Jai Hind Film Mp3 Songs Download. As for the law and trade exam it's really not that hard. 15, 20 years ago all you had to do was send in the money with the app and they would issue a license no problem.

The process has changed with regards to the B license and 7 other classifications. They now want applicants to prove their experience on paper. W-2's, tax returns, pay stubs, permits, contracts, etc etc.

In theory, he should be able to apply for the C-33, take the trade exam, and be issued a license without having to jump thru the hoops choked off by paperwork. License Guru.thank you for offering your advice. I'm in the research phase of obtaining a license so I can start a painting company. My understanding, for California, is you must have 4 years experience within the last 10 years.

My issue is the 4+ years of experience that I have was well over a decade ago. I think this is somewhat unfair, (especially since a 4-year degree can count for up to 3 years of this time.and how does that trump my years of experience??), but nothing I can do about that other than complain.

I also have over a decade of sales management experience, most recently holding a National Sales title for several years, and additionally I have founded two small businesses. So I have plenty of applicable experience on the business management side. Question 1: Do I even waste my time applying and pleading my case if my experience was 15+ years ago?

Question 2: Since I don't want to go paint for someone AGAIN for 4 years, what are some options? Partner with a licensed painter? Last Question: My Dad has been a General Contractor for 25+ years. Can I paint under his license, and 4 years from now use that as my verifiable time? Does he have to carry a CA33 license and hire me as an employee? Thank you for any info you can provide. Hello TCPaint.

The cslb will only accept C33 experience obtained within the last 10 yrs. You could get up to 3 yrs credit if you have a degree that directly relates to the trade. Otherwise it's up to two yrs credit. You could apply for a license using someone else to qualify the license for you. Form a corp, apply for the license, you are the Pres/CEO, the qualifier is the RMO/VP.

After 4 yrs you could apply to replace him. After 5 yrs you could apply to replace him without taking the exams. If your Dad has a corp license, he could add you on as an officer. But if he only holds the B license, he/you could not contract specifically for C33 work. B contracts must include at least two unrelated trades. The easiest way to go is to have a qualifier on your license that already holds the C33.

To do this, that qualifier would have to show at least 20% ownership in the company if he is also listed on any other active license. I hope this helps.
